Maypole Dairy Pot Scotland 1860

Stunning large rare original antique Maypole Dairy Cup dating to the 1900s. Maypole Dairies began in 1887 and was one of the first dairies to produce margarine as an alternative to butter. Maypole dairies became a household name and had dairies across the UK. This beautiful antique dairy pot with handle would have been used for butter or lard. Lovely original advertising to the front with 2lb stamped on the back and the original handle and brown glaze and black transfer ware advertising. No crazing just some surface wear and stains inside the pot, some little nibbles to the rim. A very good condition item considering it is well over 100 years old.
