A toddy lifter--whose name describes its use--is a bulb-shaped vessel with a long neck and openings at each end. Made in the Late 18th through the early 19th century from colorless glass they range in size but are around 6-7”tall and 2-3”wide. The bulbous end is dipped into a punch bowl until full, after which the top end is sealed with a finger to create a vacuum. The lifter is then "lifted out" of the bowl and the drink discharged into a glass. We have created an ebonized stand for each one as to give each one the distinction they deserve. They were made in England, Europe or Ireland. We know you will enjoy these in any space as a great conversation piece they make every space special!
