This is an antique freestanding sidewalk plant stand from the 20th century, made of ornamental wrought iron. It was discovered in an old floral shop in and is believed to have been produced by Midwest Metal Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio as it is similar to others to have been made there. The stand boasts an intricately designed base, consisting of heavily twisted wrought iron with an early green paint finish, and intact scrolled feet. The base is joined with rivets and supports a utilitarian steel wire basket. It stands 31” tall, but the center floor of the basket has broken through, though we have saved it, it could easily have a plate put in its place, or wire. It’s 19” in diameter.
